I can finally show you what we did for Christmas presents!
It all started with a call from my friend, "Amy, you want some figs?"
"Uh...sure." Do I even eat figs?
I didn't know, but my mom loves fig preserves.
Christmas present!

Then it came to me.
Christmas gift packs.
Oh, yeah!!
I canned some applesauce.
We like to heat it up and eat it on ice cream.
Tastes like apple pie.
I also made a batch of cranberry orange marmalade.
I also did a batch of salsa with tomatoes from my friend's farm.
The gang's all here!
Now I just needed something to put them in.
On the Tuesday before Christmas I had an idea.
"Rusty, will you help me do something?"
"Sure," he said.
Poor fellow. He should have known what he was getting himself into.
"I have an idea. I want these jars to sit together in a little carrier kind of like this using the pallets."
Here's how they turned out!
Cute, isn't it?
Rusty rocks!
I think they turned out so cute!

5 little notes:
Wowser Amy I wish I was on your Christmas list!!! I love the carriers made from the pallets!! Isn't it amazing what you can do with pallets!! Sim is now making us a recycling center as we just had to start recycling around here for the first time. He is putting it on casters so we can roll it out. I'll post pics. And yes Rusty rocks!! XO Love, Fran.
That's a great gift! You and Rusty both are very creative and talented. My mom had a huge fig bush and she loved them. The bees and birds were really attracted to that bush!
These are so cute. I am just getting into "canning". I made some pear sauce from my SIL's pear tree last summer. It was a lot of fun and kinda easy. I want to make some strawberry jam (our family favorite). Yum!
Wow, That is an awesome Christmas gift! You are both very talented !The carrier made from a pallet is amazing !
That is possibly the best gift ever! The personal touch is so wonderful....Rusty is a keeper!
