Swap Box and a Giveaway

What a Monday it was! I got up this morning wishing I could sleep in a little more. Just feeling kind of tired and down.....

After lunch there was a knock on the door. It was the mail lady and she had a package for me. Yeah, my fall swap package was here! Thanks Kimberly!! I was so excited. Before I even opened the box I did my little happy dance. I would give you a little demonstration but you may laugh so hard that you fall out of the chair. I would feel just awful that you were injured while reading my blog! The dance continued as I opened everything!

Everything was so cute! Thanks Kimberly! I love it! It really made my day!! Thanks!

Giveaway

One day in my Anthropology class in college, we young, idealistic students were bemoaning the faults of our country when our Jamaican professor said something I will never forget. He said, "But you still live in the greatest country in the world." We stopped and thought about it. He was right. He still is. I love this country....
So here it is.... My giveaway....When I first saw this material I had this idea--to do a completely reversible bag one side Democrat the other Republican. After all, we are one nation! Both sides have a little tag. Whether Republican or Democrat we are all Americans! Sometimes we feel differently about things. We have the freedom to do that. That's one of the things that makes America great!
I know it's kind of strange, but I've never claimed to be a normal person! Here's the deal: Leave a comment about what you like about the bipartisan bag until October 13. Please don't tell me who you're going to vote for--there's a reason we have secret ballots!! Thanks so much!

Amy- What a CUTE bag! I remember when you bought this fabric and I wondered what you were going to do with it.:) Now I know! I love that you can use either side- clever! Lori

You are a clever chick and probably a better dancer than I. I keep threatening to run across my farm naked doing a happy dance because I'm so happy to finally have my own place....that is actually how I make extra money. I threaten to do so and people beg me not to with offers of cash! So, two great reasons why this is the greatest nation on earth....we can own property and we can make money doing outlandish things!!!!!

What a great bag! I love it because I am a bipartisan kind of chick, so whichever mood I was in at the moment could be the side facing out! Oh, and I am VERY MUCH in favor of happy dances - if more people did them the world would be a much better place!

I LOVE it BECAUSE depending on my mood, I could just flip flop the bag back and forth -- inside or out -- which is about how I feel about now on this election season.

That bag is adorable! This summer, on Cape Cod, outside a store there were two benches - one marked Democrats & the other Republicans. My husband had the kids to sit on one and we took a picture of the kids on one bench and no one on the other. Beth

I adore this bag ... what a great idea!
If I win the bag I would use it to carry food for family picnics. THIS bag is perfect because when I carry it one side would be out, and when my husband carries it the other side would be out.

What I really love about this bag is that I could actually SHARE it with my daughter - we'd take great advantage of its reversablity!!!

Lovely tote! I like it because I don't like talking about my political views - but this tote is a subtle way to show I do have an interest. And I love how it is bipartisan - I think everyone is allowed to have their own views even if they are different from our own.

If I won this bag, I don't know if I would give it to my sister (D) or keep it for myself (R). Cute idea.

This bag is SO appropriate because I feel very republican on some issues and very democratish on others. I could change my bag with my moods. :)

Great Job! And thanks for posting on SMS so that I could find your neat blog. :)

cute bag, our house would only use one side, HA!

I like it because I am often indecisive!

But honestly, both parties have something to contribute.

I love this bag. I'm registered independent and would love to have the bag to carry it as my work bag and I can change it with my mood of the day :)

LOL, on the secret ballots. We are overseas military and therefore vote absentee. I'm always having issues with my husband over MY ballot. He has argued with my choices while I'm voting in the privacy of my home. One time while sealing my ballot into the envelope and signing it I read the part asking if anyone helped you with it… hehehe. I read it to him in the most sarcastic tone I could muster. One time he was for something I was against (in a local election). He kept heckling me to vote his way. I waited until he sealed his envelope, voted against it, then told him I just cancelled his vote. LOL!!! This year the day the ballots arrived I voted for my president and sealed the envelope before he got home from work.
The Dems vs. Reps debate drives me nuts. You’re right we are all Americans and the differences of opinions are what make us great. If we all believed the same way we would be robots following like blind sheep. I think your bag idea was an excellent one.

I think the bag it so cute and clever. Whatever side you have on the outside to show the word you will know that the other side is on the inside. I think every member of Congress needs one of these bags;)

What a smart idea! I found your blog from Sew, Mama, Sew and think it's great.

I love the bag because it can make flip-floppers hip again!

I love the bag and that there is a choice of which side to use. I also like that you put your tag "Pink Hi-Tops" on the bag. Makes it more special! JudyK

What a great bag! Love that it is reversible since who can really claim that they are truly 100% republican or democrat? Life is too short and complicated to draw imaginary lines in the sand!!

I love this bag because I can flip it inside out, depending on which way my politcal views are leaning, since I don't share views completely with either one party.

I also like it because I can carry it one way when I'm around my family, and another when I'm around friends, because there's a big disparity between their views! I think this bag represents someone like me. This bag falls in the middle, just like how I fall in the middle of the right or left views of my family and friends!

I love that this bag doesn't force you to commit to one party! It teaches us to all keep an open mind -- although you might be voting for one party in November there might be a day when you wish to support another party. At that point, you can flip the bag inside out and show your support for that candidate! Very clever and very cute!
